This past 16-17 December 2022, we went out to St. Moritz to see the two Women’s downhill races of the FIS Ski World Cup. This was my first time ever at a ski competition – I don’t ski but I love watching it, and the setup in St. Moritz was great.

The weather was not perfect the first day (they had to shorten the race a little bit due to lack of visibility in the upper part of the course) but it was still super fun.

Saturday 17 December 2022
This was a perfect weather day! Sunny and clear for the race. To get to the area we opted to take the scenic route up from town via the Schellenursli Weg.

Unfortunately no Swiss on the podiums either day, but this race was won entirely by Sofia Goggia who raced with a broken hand from the day before.
